The New Year is almost here and we can expect some amazing new rides/attractions coming to Disney World in 2019!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Located in Hollywood Studios, this will be the first ride ever to feature Mickey Mouse as the main story. Disney executives have said that this will be a 2 and a Half D experience, meaning that guests won’t need 3D glasses but should experiences some of the same thrills that come with their use. Guests will board Goofy’s train and experience some wacky twists and turns along the ride. Disney’s creative team will definitely make this an amazing ride to make sure that Mickey Mouse’s first ride is a great one!
Disney Skyliner
Helping guests get from their hotels to the parks, this newest form of transportation at Disney World will be a big change! Usually driven by bus, guests will board a closed gondola system that will take them to various points around the area. These points will include: Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Pop Century/Art of Animation. Debuting in the fall, we should see plenty of non-hotel guests try out this new system purely for the views associated with it!
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy
If it seems that Hollywood Studios has been getting a lot of love and attention recently, it’s because it has been. Another new experience is coming to the land once said to be a half-day park (meaning you don’t need a full day to do everything at it). This new show will feature Lightning McQueen in a new format that we have yet to see at any Disney show to date. Little is known about it but Disney Exec.’s have promised it will be an amazing experience
The NBA Experience
Replacing the old Disney Quest building at Disney Springs, this new attraction will feature many different activities meant to take guests into the heart of a basketball game. Some of these will include a slam dunk game, trivia, and more! There will also be a full fledged retail store inside the building where you can pick up all the NBA merchandise you would want.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
The most awaited new experience is set to open at Hollywood Studio’s next year. Featuring a fully immersive land centered around the Star Wars universe, this new land will be the most impressive area of any theme park around the world. With a nearly identical sister land opening up at Disneyland in Anaheim, these two land’s will feature extremely long lines when they first open(and probably for the next year if Pandora is a good indicator).
