Disneyland Resort Proposes Reopening Dates

Disneyland has submitted plans to begin a phased reopening of their Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California. The date that the theme park is reopening coincides with the first day that Disneyland opened 65 years ago, July 17th.

The first stage of reopening will see the Downtown Disney District reopening on July 9th. This would be followed up by Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park reopening on July 17th. Lastly, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will reopen on July 23rd.

This plan is pending approval from the state and local government.

Part of the plan includes severely limiting park capacity in order to conform with local requirements of safety. This decrease will also help promote physical distancing at the parks.

Reservations will be required in order to visit the parks ahead of time. This new reservation system will be announced in further detail sometime in the future. If it goes by the same system that Disney World is following then park hopping will probably be off the table.

Disney is planning a number of health and safety protocols to ensure guests safety. This includes limiting capacity, no experiences that draw large group gatherings, and no character meet and greets.
