During a recent media event, Dollywood has dropped SO MUCH new information regarding the 2022 season! Grab that refillable park mug and let’s get into it!
First off, we have some updates regarding Dollywood’s new on-property resort HEARTSONG! Right now, it looks like everything is still on track to open in late Fall 2023. Construction seems to be going along smoothly and we are super excited to see the new re-imagined Lodge and resort!
For all you Splash Country fans this one is for YOU! Dollywood has started construction to reimagine Little Creek Falls to create a wheelchair accessible splash pad! Dollywood was able to work closely with an ADA advisory panel to ensure this accessible feature is more inclusive of ALL mobility types.
How fantastic is it that Dollywood is continuing to improve and offer MORE options for those who may have limited mobility!
How do you like parking and entering Dollywood? Well, you may notice some changes when you next enter the park! Dollywood has been working HARD at relocating the parking booths and adding MORE to expedite entry into the park.
Faster entry? Yes please!
The park is also working a new park tram drop off/pickup spot that will create a much more open feel for guest entering the park.
Shopping anyone? The EMPORIUM is received some MAJOR TLC this new season. Once construction is completed the EMPORIUM will display some incredible artworks and an ICONIC butterfly from the ceiling! Oh, and check out? Yes, that is changing a bit as well. Dollywood will offer some new options for checkout including self-checkout kiosks to help expedite purchases when exiting the park!
Ya’ll ready for some MAJOR FOOD NEWS? Victoria’s Pizza is expanding! Not only are they making this location much bigger, but they are changing the name as well.
Ladies and gentlemen, we introduced you to the new and improved IRON HORSE PIZZA! Guest at this location will now be able to enjoy SHORTER wait times, MORE seating, and an overall IMPROVED experience when this spot opens.
Finally, we have MORE updates on a few of the festivals including new shows and food options.
The Flower and Food festival is getting some NEW food offerings including a delicious looking Mac N Cheese and Spicy Korean BBQ Meatballs! Dollywood also revealed there will be 3 new mosaic culture displays extending into Craftsman’s Valley. This includes a GORGEDOUS Peacock. Some new shows and experiences include an immersive new attraction called “Dolly’s Butterfly Garden” presented by Canada’s “Moment Factory”.
For the Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration, we will see the addition of America’s largest bubble foam pit and a new sky exhibit that will be like the umbrella sky featured during the Flower & Food Festival. This will display will also feature kites!
And finally, the Fall Harvest Festival addition HOOT OWL HOLLOW will feature over 500 pumpkin owls and Smoky Mountain Christmas will add 30% more lights! Make sure to bring your sunglasses!
It’s so great to see how serious Dollywood is when it comes to expansion and future proofing the park. It truly shows in the attention to small details and large new additions that Dollywood will only continue to attract new visitors and we can’t wait to witness the growth!
